Just a quick update on the progress of the gaiwan project: these are two of the four fired sets! The one on the left is earthenware and the other is porcelain.

You can notice the shrinkage of the porcelain. Whilst I was expecting to leave them unglazed, the porcelain pots don’t really have a nice smooth texture, so I might reconsider later, or try to cast them from bone china slip.

Meanwhile, just a quick look at the glazing process of the earthenware sets (I got a new phone, so the picture quality should be markedly higher); more to come.
